Job Description: 

Schnabel Engineering is eager to supplement and expand its current service offering to our clients in need of civil and structural engineering services, particularly as they relate to planning and design of hydropower and mining facilities.  Responsibilities include preparing calculations and drawings, authoring structural reports and studies, coordinating with other disciplines, and providing construction administration support. This position is for a structural engineer who wants to build technical expertise while gaining project management responsibility. Qualified candidates will be well-rounded, organized problem solvers with excellent communication skills and an interest in solving technical challenges.

Job Responsibilities: 

• Perform structural analysis and design.
• Project focus to strengthen the firm’s existing hydropower and mining capabilities. 
• Create calculations and designs under the limited supervision of an experienced professional engineer.
• Collect and analyzes data under the limited supervision of an experienced professional engineer.
• Perform work within budget and schedule expectations.
• Broad exposure to different types of projects including experience across different business lines.
• Manage small to medium size projects under supervision.

Required Skills/Experience: 

• Minimum 4 years of experience in design and construction 
• Engineer in Training with the ability to receive a Professional Engineering License within 18 months
• Application of Steel (AISC) and Concrete (ACI) Design Codes.
• Experience in use of REVIT/AutoCAD
• Experience using 3-D structural analysis software (SAP, RISA, STAAD)

Desired Skills/Experience: 

• Writing skills to author structural reports and assessments.
• Experience with Microsoft Teams and SharePoint software 

Other Requirements: 

• Ability to pass a background check which may include criminal history, motor vehicle record and credit check 
• Ability to pass a pre-employment screening

The compensation range for this position is between $65,000 to $95,000 per year. Compensation for this position may vary based on geographic location and other factors. We remain committed to providing competitive and equitable compensation to all employees, regardless of their location.
