An Engineer II is primarily responsible for the completion of Preventative Maintenance work in all rooms/areas. Engineer II is responsible for repairs and maintenance to include but not limited to: wallpaper & paint, grout and tile, HVAC basic maintenance, basic plumbing and electrical. Engineer II works with Engineer Supervisor and/or Chief Engineer to plan and complete Preventative Maintenance of all Guest rooms according to Annual Task Schedule and in compliance with PHR and Brand standards.

- Work smart. Understand the needs of the shift, use resources properly, complete all assignment methodically and promptly without losing attention to details.

- Measure Up. Associate produces work that meets the standards of the department in terms of volume and quality. Associate meets goals and measures as defined by Department Leadership.
- Respect the space. Keep your work area clean and organized. Report any deficiencies promptly to your Supervisor.

- Associate Responsibilities specific for this role and Department:
- Provide general "handyman" skills
- Makes all necessary room and public area repairs to ensure asset condition meets standard.
- Understands and coordinates completion of PM maintenance on all rooms, areas and equipment
- Utilizes the comprehensive Unit PM Checklist to assist with enacting repairs that have been identified
- Returns the PM Cart to the PM closet in Engineering and assists with replenishing stock from in-house inventories.
- Performs all work as assigned, in conjunction with the PM Team Captain and PM Engineer to include the following tasks:
- door hardware, gaskets and thresholds
- wall paper repair
- ceilinig vents
- ceiling condition
- lighting fixtures
- check small and large appliances
- check electronics (TV remotes, alarm clocks, VCP's, etc.)
- Carpet wear and loose threads
- furniture tight, drawers aligned, properly positioned
- electrical outlets work, plate covers in place, lights activate from wall switch
- HVAC unit function
- Closet rod, towel bars, tub grab bars all secure
- Plumbing fixtures functional and secure
- Drapery hardware complete and functional
- performs scheduled preventative maintenance on all major equipment to include but not limited to:
- laundry equipment
- kitchen equipment
- air handlers
- pumps and motors
Qualifications:
Type | Qualification |
Experience | Minimum four years experience in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry or building maintence. Two years or its equivalent in trade school or training in building maintenance/construction. Must have basic knowledge of building mechanical systems and controls, energy management and building maintenance skills may require ability to drive pick-up truck and snow removal equipment. |
Experience | Significant experience with all maintenance disciplines |
Skill | Professional tradesmen certification in at least one discipline: electrician, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, carpentry, etc |
