Overview:

An Engineer II is primarily responsible for the completion of Preventative Maintenance work in all rooms/areas.  Engineer II is responsible for repairs and maintenance to include but not limited to: wallpaper & paint, grout and tile, HVAC basic maintenance, basic plumbing and electrical.  Engineer II works with Engineer Supervisor and/or Chief Engineer to plan and complete Preventative Maintenance of all Guest rooms according to Annual Task Schedule and in compliance with PHR and Brand standards.

  5. Work smart. Understand the needs of the shift, use resources properly, complete all assignment methodically and promptly without losing attention to details.
  6. Use your tools. Use the approved tools and checklists to complete assigned tasks.
  7. Measure Up. Associate produces work that meets the standards of the department in terms of volume and quality. Associate meets goals and measures as defined by Department Leadership.
  8. Respect the space. Keep your work area clean and organized. Report any deficiencies promptly to your Supervisor.
  9. Be safe. Report unsafe work conditions or practices and safety or security violations in accordance with company policy.  
  10. Support the Team: Cooperate with other associates and supervisors striving to create a positive work environment. Support team efforts through carrying out responsibilities in a constructive and professional manner.

  1. Associate Responsibilities specific for this role and Department:

 

  1. Provide general "handyman" skills
  2. Makes all necessary room and public area repairs to ensure asset condition meets standard.
  3. Understands and coordinates completion of PM maintenance on all rooms, areas and equipment
  4. Utilizes the comprehensive Unit PM Checklist to assist with enacting repairs that have been identified
  5. Returns the PM Cart to the PM closet in Engineering and assists with replenishing stock from in-house inventories.
  6. Performs all work as assigned, in conjunction with the PM Team Captain and PM Engineer to include the following tasks:
  7. door hardware, gaskets and thresholds
  8. wall paper repair
  9. ceilinig vents
  10. ceiling condition
  11. lighting fixtures
  12. check small and large appliances
  13. check electronics (TV remotes, alarm clocks, VCP's, etc.)
  14. Carpet wear and loose threads
  15. furniture tight, drawers aligned, properly positioned
  16. electrical outlets work, plate covers in place, lights activate from wall switch
  17. HVAC unit function
  18. Closet rod, towel bars, tub grab bars all secure 
  19. Plumbing fixtures functional and secure
  20. Drapery hardware complete and functional
  21. performs scheduled preventative maintenance on all major equipment to include but not limited to: 
    1. laundry equipment 
    2. kitchen equipment
    3. air handlers
    4. pumps and motors 

 

 

 

Qualifications:
TypeQualification
ExperienceMinimum four years experience in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry or building maintence. Two years or its equivalent in trade school or training in building maintenance/construction. Must have basic knowledge of building mechanical systems and controls, energy management and building maintenance skills may require ability to drive pick-up truck and snow removal equipment.
ExperienceSignificant experience with all maintenance disciplines
SkillProfessional tradesmen certification in at least one discipline: electrician, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, carpentry, etc
SkillAble to multi-task, organized within specific time frames
SkillDemonstrated positive attitude and work ethic practices in order to attain maximum operating efficiency while ensuring adherence to established guest satisfaction criteria.
