Job Description:We have an exciting new opportunity for a Scanning Metrology Engineer to join our Vehicle Engineering team, supporting time-efficient assessments at assembly and higher levels of vehicle assembly both within the factory and at track events.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of methodology and process that can bring performance to our cars, fully leveraging our scanning technology and associate metrology.
As a Scanning Metrology Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Setting and agreeing technical standards, key results, and delivery targets for scanning projects.
- Collaborating with multiple departments across the organisation and external suppliers, all the way from manufacture completion to the live on-track sessions and through the entire usage lifecycle.
- Driving the standardisation and utilisation of the scanning toolset across the organisation.
- Consulting key stakeholders to define deliverables aligning to the car programme delivery and technology programs as required.
- Being the primary knowledge holder, and developer, of all bespoke software pertaining to the systems used at Williams.
- Developing and maintain relevant documentation, including relevant processes and resolving process inefficiencies.
Our ideal candidate is someone who has:
- A special interest in the inspection technology relevant to the legality requirements and performance sensitivities within F1.
- A degree level qualification or equivalent, preferably in an engineering discipline.
- Working knowledge of the incumbent hardware - Hexagon / Leica AS1 and associate toolset.
- Expert knowledge of the incumbent Polyworks software that is used in the metrology ecosystem and any associate toolset.
- The ability to manage priorities to deliver both individual and project objectives.
- Self-motivation and innovation; possessing a high level of resilience and succeeding under pressure.
- The ability to integrate and collaborate with all peers and colleagues across the organisation.
- Dedication and strives for improvement with the tenacity to leave no area of investigation untouched.
- Willingness to undertake international travel to events as required.
