The Highlands at Harbor Springs is seeking dependable and hardworking Dishwashers to join our culinary team. In this essential role, you will help keep the kitchen running smoothly by maintaining clean work areas, sanitizing equipment, and ensuring all dishes, utensils, and cookware are properly washed and organized. Responsibilities:
Essential Responsibilities:
Primary Duties (60–80%):
Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans using dish machines or by hand
Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including floors, walls, and prep surfaces
Ensure all dishwashing equipment is cleaned and maintained properly
Organize and store clean items in their proper locations
Remove trash and recyclables and keep waste areas clean
Follow all safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures
Assist with closing duties and kitchen deep-cleaning as needed
Secondary Duties (20–40%):
Assist kitchen staff with basic food prep and organization
Support team members in other areas of the kitchen as needed
Communicate equipment or supply issues to management
Qualifications:
Must be 16 years or older
No prior experience required—on-the-job training provided
Ability to follow safety and sanitation procedures
Positive attitude and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment
Team-oriented with strong communication skills
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
Ability to stand for extended periods
Frequent lifting, bending, and reaching
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
Work environment includes exposure to heat, humidity, water, cleaning chemicals, and slippery floors
