The Villages Community Development Districts is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance and repairs of our District-owned executive golf facilities. Your Mission

As Supervisor of Executive Golf Maintenance, you'll be the go-to expert ensuring our golf facilities remain in exceptional condition. You'll analyze maintenance issues, coordinate subcontractors, inspect completed work, and provide hands-on support when needed. From irrigation systems and building maintenance to wetlands oversight and infrastructure inspections, you'll be responsible for keeping every aspect of our executive golf properties operating flawlessly.

 The Ideal Candidate

You bring 1-2 years of related maintenance or facilities experience, ideally with exposure to golf or landscape operations. You understand irrigation systems, building maintenance, and the standards that keep golf facilities operating at peak performance. You're comfortable reading blueprints, interpreting building codes, managing budgets, and working with diverse teams. Most importantly, you're a strong communicator who can balance technical precision with world-class customer service.

JOB SUMMARY

Oversees maintenance and repairs of District owned Golf facilities and property. Establishment of daily communication and a mutually productive working relationship between other District departments, The Villages Golf and Tennis, residents and contractors are essential to this position.                                                     

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Includes, but not limited to)

  • Analyzes and resolves maintenance issues through communication with and utilizes appropriate subcontractors by issuing and tracking work orders.
  • Compiles specifications and assists in the selection and management of subcontractors for maintenance issues in coordination with other departments.
  • Establishes and/or adjusts work procedures and schedules.
  • Coordinates and expedites subcontractor work/projects.
  • Inspects completed work on a regular and timely basis, including climbing ladders to obtain access to a multi-story roof, inspecting air ducts, crawl spaces, ceilings and attics.
  • Inspects work done on behalf of the District to insure it is done to the contract specifications.
  • Interprets and ensures compliance of the District policies and safety procedures.
  • Verifies related invoices for payment.
  • Conducts regular and timely review, report, and inspection of facilities.
  • Oversees wetlands, preserves and water retention areas directly related to golf courses.
  • Provides hands-on maintenance support and assistance as needed.
  • Keeps Executive Golf Maintenance Director informed of projects progress and cost.
  • Available for various hours if requested to perform essential duties to accommodate work needed.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

  • Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and/or 1-2 years of related or specified experience or equivalent combination of education and experience 

 MINIMUM CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Valid Florida Driver’s License required.
  • All candidates and employees must successfully pass background screening. 

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES 

Knowledge

  • Basic Understanding of Golf/Landscape irrigation systems and maintenance of those systems.
  • Knowledge of golf/landscape design, maintenance facilities/buildings, electrical, plumbing, heating and air conditioning, cement block and wood structures, concrete and asphalt.   
  • Understanding the principles of golf maintenance and playability standards.

Skills                                                                     

  • Proven ability to provide excellent customer service to our residents, facility managers and District staff.  
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and professional appearance.  

Abilities

  • Able to read and interpret basic blueprints.
  • Able to understand building codes, policies, regulations, contract administration, and budget management. 
  • Proficient personal computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office package including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint required.  
  • Able to work with a large diverse population.

EQUIPMENT

Position regularly requires the use of office equipment, including but not limited to telephones, personal computers and productivity software; Vehicle (truck, car or golf cart) and occasional use of digital cameras.
