Unami DNI Joint Ventures LLC has an immediate opening for a highly qualified project Superintendent to take over an ongoing USACE Design/Bid/Build U.S. Ary Corps of Engineers, (USACE), project on JBSA, Fort Sam Houston, TX.

The Superintendent will coordinate all site construction activities and supervise all field personnel as required to successfully complete projects on schedule and within budget. This includes maintaining the highest quality, supervising all trade and field personnel, while administering good construction safety practices with all on-site activities. Maintains the job site office and assists the Management team to complete project close out. The preferred Design/Bid/Build project Superintendent will work with the on-site Project Manager, QC Manager and Site Safety & Health Officer to proactively and effectively complete the project

Requirements

Oversee, manage, and direct all aspects of the field operations of the project from beginning to end. Complete project on schedule, within the budget, and with highest quality of workmanship.

Effectively manage and execute assigned projects to include effective communication with project team members, US Army Corps of Engineers staff, end-user clients, and subcontractors to ensure projects meet designated quality timelines and budgets.

Oversee, manage, and direct the safety aspect of the field operations of the project from beginning

The Superintendent is expected to keep current construction practices and maintain valid certifications.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates and supervises all construction activities.
  • Developes and executes “look-ahead” scheduling in conjunction with other on-site team members and management staff.
  • Directs all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications.
  • Maintains construction schedule, identifies, and solves problems.
  • Coordinates material orders/deliveries with the Management team and schedules inspections as necessary throughout the process.
  • Has a thorough understanding of the project Solicitation, plans, specifications, and all Subcontractor Scopes of Work.
  • Maintains positive, proactive relationships with customers, subcontractors, suppliers, and other employees.
  • Promotes job site safety, encourages safe work practices, and rectifies job site hazards immediately.
  • Ensures all company employees and contractors are adhering to the company safety policy.
  • Maintains a clean, organized job site, including the construction office.
  • Meeting with subcontractors to ensure satisfactory job progress.
  • Ensuring all reports and records are completed in an accurate and timely manner and per contract requirements.
  • Forwarding reports to the appropriate internal company personnel and USACE representatives.
  • Supervising, ordering, and coordinating activities of labor, subcontractors and deliveries.
  • Analyzing worker and production problems.
  • Improving production methods or implementing motivational plans for review with the Management team.
  • Conferring with managers and technical associates to coordinate activities.
  • Conducting and participating in safety meetings.

Education and Experience:

  • 4-yr college degree is preferred but not required. A minimum 10-years’ experience in vertical and horizontal construction projects.
  • Experience with new construction and Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings.
  • Experienced in managing U.S. Army Corps of Engineers projects.
  • Experienced in reading and comprehension of design documents including design drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and submittals.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods and safety law.
  • 24-Hour Fall Protection training.
  • Working knowledge of the USACE Health & Safety Manual, EM 385 1-1.
  • Computer literacy, excellent communications with other employees, subs, clients.
  • Current Certifications in OSHA 30, Construction Quality Control Management (CQM), First Aid and CPR.
  • Working knowledge of USACE Scheduling and Quality Control requirements.
  • Ability to maintain records, prepare reports, and conduct correspondence related to work.
