The Maintenance Technician at Murphy’s Naturals supports the Manufacturing/Production department by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment and facility systems in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). This role ensures the reliability, safety, and efficiency of production operations and supports continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance on production equipment, packaging lines, utilities, and facility infrastructure.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Execute and document maintenance activities in accordance with GMP, safety, and quality standards.
- Partner with Production Operators to ensure equipment is operating safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Batch Manufacturing Procedures.
- Support equipment changeovers, installations, and qualifications.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, calibration records, and required GMP documentation.
- Participate in and contribute to 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct facility inspections and identify opportunities to improve safety, efficiency, and reliability.
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager and Production Supervisor to minimize downtime and meet production schedules.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized maintenance work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or certification preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or GMP-regulated environment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Experience with packaging equipment, pumps, motors, etc. is a plus.
