The position: We’re looking for a Strategic Advisor to join our Housing Choice Voucher team! In this impactful role, you'll lead planning, analysis, and coordination of technical functions that support operations across the organization. You'll work closely with senior leadership, offering insights and recommendations to improve policies and programs, and may even represent the agency in high-level strategic forums.

The ideal candidate will have:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in housing development, financing, budgeting, project management, or grant writing (private or non-profit sectors).
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; graduate degree preferred.
- Additional 4 years of relevant experience may substitute for the degree.
- Valid Washington State driver’s license
Skills and Abilities:
- Experience in housing development, budgeting, project management, and grant writing.
- Knowledge of housing programs, funding strategies, contract administration, and community development principles.
- Strong communication, outreach, and relationship-building skills across diverse audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, analyze complex issues, prepare budgets, and use standard office software effectively.

- Analyze and develop policies affecting SHA programs and funding.
- Advise department directors on long-term policy impacts.
- Recommend development of major programs and budgets.
- Communicate key issues on behalf of SHA to internal and external audiences.
- Represent SHA priorities on cross-functional teams.
- Provide expert technical advice to management.
- Recommend operational policy options and improvements.
- Support and help administer programs and budgets.
- Share program procedures and policies with stakeholders.
- Contribute to goal-setting, performance measures, and service improvements.
- Follow safety protocols and participate in emergency preparedness.
