The Trading & Portfolio Operations Officer will be involved in all aspects of trading. The individual will be part of a team that operates in a small group environment resulting in exposure to all facets of investment management. This role will involve regular interaction with Portfolio Managers, Client Advisors, Custody and counterparties. The Trading & Portfolio Operations Officer should be a self- starter with the ability to understand and clearly communicate information.
Responsibilities:
- Interact with Portfolio Managers on matters including the buying and selling of securities, reviewing tax loss reports and running group orders
- Communicate with Client Advisors to respond to client requests to purchase specific securities and to identify relevant and appropriate fund trading groups
- Collaborate with Client Advisors on the writing of call options
- Work with Custody Department on trade breaks
- Create and maintain Investment Department reports
- Identify trade discrepancies and report them to counterparties and internal Custody Department to execute the necessary trade changes
- Collaborate with manager to determine the best course of action for basket trades received from Quantitative Strategies team
- Comply with regulatory requirements including but not limited to trading surveillance and compliance
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Three years of financial services experience preferred
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, multitasking and analytical skills
- Proven ability to work well in and contribute to a team environment
- Sound business judgment in all facets of the investment process
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments with efficiency and accuracy
- Proficiency with Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word
- Working knowledge of Bloomberg, Bloomberg AIM, FactSet and Longview
The base salary range for this position is $95,000-$125,000. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
In addition, this position may be eligible for a discretionary incentive based on individual and company performance.
Eligible employees may participate in a 401 (k) program with a company profit sharing contribution, medical, dental, vision, life insurance and disability coverage and paid holidays, vacation, and sick days.
