Job Summary
The Project Manager for the MGNet Program supports research of the NIH-funded research network as well as other projects related to myasthenia gravis through the performance of basic clinical and administrative procedures including data collection, quality assurance, and regulatory tasks. This position helps ensure that all research activity in the department of Neurology conform to regulatory and clinical guidelines. The Project Manager works under the supervision of the Associate Director to support clinical research trials, chart reviews and blood/data collection studies. This position will assist in the preparation of electronic and paper regulatory submissions, program reports, and correspondence as needed. Additional duties include working with operations manuals and maintaining participant databases. Specific responsibilities include:
1. Assesses patient study eligibility, obtains past medical history and health status as required by the research protocol. Interacts with research participants and family
members in a friendly, prompt, and caring manner, maintaining confidentiality and respect at all times.
2. Abstracts clinical data from medical charts and medical records including collection of primary data from patients.
3. Works with multiple centers to develop electronic capture of research data through the Epic system.
4. Performs clinical and administrative procedures as necessary for study protocol – i.e. blood pressure, venipuncture, vital signs, completing case forms, answering queries, and completing regulatory documents. Will be trained in study participant blood draws.
5. Tracks participants’ adverse reactions examples include data management, clinical follow up. Assesses adverse reaction, discuss with investing physician, completes case report and documentation.
6. Completes and maintains institutional review board documentation (submission, continuing review and safety updates).
7. Coordinates study recruitment efforts, referrals, advertising and database research.
8. Schedules patient visits and coordinates testing with other departments.
9. Prepares study samples for storage and shipping.
10. Organizes investigator meetings.
11. Establishes drug maintenance with pharmacy.
12. Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Qualifications
Education
Graduate of an accredited School or University.
License/Certification
None
Experience
One-Two years of progressively more responsible clinical research
experience is required.

scientists, clinician and other departmental staff.

1. Adequate visual acuity to read printed materials.
2. Must be able to participate in numerous conversations throughout the workday both
in person and over the telephone or video.
3. Deal effectively with daily stress brought on by time pressure and potential conflict
situations as standard for this role.
4. Must be able to reach for and grasp lightweight items (files, binders, books)
repeatedly throughout each day.
Special Factors: Operate the following office equipment: computer, telephone, recorder,
calculator, copier, and pager. Use Microsoft Office, OnCore and other relevant computer
programs. Experience with electronic databases is a plus.
