About This Opportunity  

We are seeking a highly motivated and organised Clinical Research Coordinator to provide clinical research assistance to support the implementation of research projects led by Dr Lucy Thomas and A/Professor Julia Treleaven from the Neck and Head Research Unit (NAHRU) within our School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. Specifically, you will support SPINEPASS: SPINE Self-Management Techniques for Persistent Headache After Concussion: Physical Therapy Targeting Autonomic and Dura Mater Function.

Reporting to Dr Thomas, this position will involve assisting with research related activities such as project administration, preparation of quarterly and annual reports, governance coordination, monitoring of participant recruitment and follow-up, data fidelity and database usage/support, and project progress reporting to Chief Investigators. This will be achieved through facilitating and maintaining close working relationships with our international key stakeholders.

This is a part-time (40% FTE), fixed-term position for 2 years at HEW Level 6. This position is based at our St Lucia campus.

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in physiotherapy and public health, and research management expertise in a tertiary setting; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.

  • Well-developed skills in project and team operations management, including understanding research budget, liaising with stakeholders to establish clinical research ethics and legal governance.

  • Previous experience in clinical research data capture and management using Qualtrix and RedCap.

  • Broad understanding of higher education research funding processes and the structure, operations and OH&S policies and regulations of UQ; or demonstrated ability to rapidly acquire such information as required.

  • Experience in designing and implementing workflow processes.

  • Well-developed skills in written communication, including flexibility and proficiency in using a wide range of computer and web applications to achieve high standard communication and promotional materials.

  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team with competing timelines; and to effectively communicate with staff of all levels, both internal and external to the organisation.

  • Knowledge of novel physiotherapy treatment - SPINEPASS and ability to assist with educational package development for physiotherapists.

Please note, you must maintain unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment to apply (employer-sponsored work rights are not available for this appointment). The successful candidate will also be required to hold and maintain full AHPRA registration.
