ABOUT THE POSITION
Proposed salary: 75K to 85K plus superannuation depending on your experience
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the Shift Production Engineer/Manager is responsible for driving performance on the production floor, whilst also ensuring WH&S and Food safety requirements are met. To succeed it will be critical the incumbent can manage and lead successful teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Hands on leadership of the floor operations on shifts for process improvement
- Work collaboratively with logistics in production planning.
- Work collaboratively with both technical and maintenance teams to resolve issues quickly and efficiently using Lean tools.
- Work collaboratively with HR and QA regarding employee recruitment and training with focus on process improvement and standardization of training
- Conduct effective regular production team meetings to review performance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Identification of production line improvement opportunities and implement process solutions.
- Use critical thinking techniques to positively influence the result.
- Assist with onboarding new employees and encourage growth and multi skilling teams tied to productivity optimization
- Create and maintain a safe working environment.
- Maintain the weekly rostering and timesheet software for all production staff.
- Integrate food safety and quality assurance principles into process design and standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
What we need from you:
- Relevant bachelor degree or higher qualification
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience as Industrial Engineer or a related field
- The ability to lead teams, have a positive attitude and winning mind
- A strong understanding of lean manufacturing
- Demonstrated experience supporting continuous improvement.
- Take the lead in monitoring, identify, and execute processes to drive continuous improvement.
- Ability to plan work and lead teams to ensure hourly targets are achieved.
- Proven ability to prioritize workflow, while managing projects in a timely manner.
- Ability to hold employees accountable to KPI’s and aligned to the company values, policies, and procedures.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills
- Strong analytical thinking and technical skills are required.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- The successful candidate will have a fervent desire to understand and be process driven.
