We are now seeking to employ a Senior Environmental Advisor to ensure compliance to the Company’s statutory Environmental obligations and liaise closely with all Mt Morgans Gold Operation personnel to ensure that their environmental roles and responsibilities are known and are being carried out to the best of their abilities.
The Senior Environmental Advisor will assist in driving cultural change within the workplace to ensure all personnel understand individual and company responsibilities with respect to environmental and safety management. The Environmental Advisor will assist with coordination, training and development of the site environmental and safety management system.
This role is offered on 8 days on, 6 days off Fly In Fly Out roster from Perth to Laverton.
The opportunity:
Perform a hands-on standalone role, with a broad range of responsibilities.
Promote environmental awareness, leadership and guidance on environmental matters to site based personnel.
Conduct monitoring, reporting and compliance to obligations on Groundwater, Waste Water Treatment Plant, Potable Water and Dust and Odour monitoring in accordance with statutory environmental requirements.
Assist with the development of environmental documentation and prepare and assist with the submission of internal and statutory environmental reporting activities.
Provide assist with environment and heritage approval applications, as required.
Conduct inspections of all working areas as per the operational inspection schedule and Government compliance requirements.
Ensure any instances of non-compliance or environmental incidents are managed and reported.
Provide assistance with all Health Safety and Environment activities as required, including participating as a member of the Emergency Response Team.
We would love to hear from you if you have:
Three years site-based environmental advisory experience within an operating mining environment;
A tertiary qualification in Environmental Science (or a related discipline)
C Class Manual Driver’s License essential
Knowledge and applications of the Western Australian and Commonwealth environmental regulatory framework, in particular, permitting and compliance under the Environmental Protection Act 1986 and the Mining Act 1978
An understanding of Environmental Management Systems
Excellent MS Office and report preparation skills (GIS skills would be considered favourable).
High level of personal organisational, teamwork and communication skills.
