The Elmhurst YMCA is hiring a part time Fitness Attendant to join the team. This integral position on the Fitness Team could be your first step to a building a career in fitness, or the next step in your fitness journey.

Responsibilities:
- Develop, motivate and maintain professional relationships with members by providing personal attention to all members and guests using a proactive approach
- Be an active marketing resource by discussing and promoting the YMCA fitness programs with our members
- Provide basic assistance and guidance to users of the fitness equipment when needed, as you acknowledge all members throughout the facilities
- Ensure a safe environment through constant circulation of the fitness and gymnasium facilities and promptly responding to safety and emergency situations
- Support the YMCA’s mission and center operations
Minimum Requirements:
- A high school diploma or GED
- The ability to Lift/Carry up to 50 lbs. and push >50 lbs.
- A passion for and obtain general knowledge of preventative health and fitness programs and philosophy
- Current American Red Cross CPR/AED and First Aid certifications or must obtain within thirty days of employment
Child Abuse Prevention - Support the YMCA’s commitment to child abuse prevention by:
- Reporting any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to your supervisor
- Following all policies and procedures related to keeping children safe in our facilities and programs, including those related to the monitoring and supervision of children
- Reporting any suspicious behavior and violation of policy and procedures to your supervisor
- Completing all child abuse prevention training, as required
