We’re looking for a motivated Feed Mill Shift Leader to join our team and help ensure high-quality feed production in a safe, efficient, and team-oriented environment.

Job Summary

The Feed Mill Shift Leader is responsible for overseeing daily feed mill operations, ensuring production efficiency, quality, and safety standards are consistently met. This position also provides leadership and training to mill team members to support skill development and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties safely and in compliance with CVFF policies and procedures.

  • Monitor ingredient and finished feed inventories.

  • Maintain clean and organized work areas consistent with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

  • Operate and monitor batching, pelleting, grinding, routing, and fat application processes.

  • Accurately input data into the mill automation system.

  • Ensure micro-bins are filled per SOPs and collect required samples and testing data.

  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation.

  • Support and monitor team member training completion and competency progress.

  • Assist in developing and implementing training materials and evaluations.

  • Communicate with management on production status, training progress, and equipment performance.

  • Promote safe work practices and attend all required meetings and trainings.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED (preferred).

  • Previous feed milling experience (preferred).

  • Forklift experience (preferred).

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

  • Effective reading, writing, math, and communication skills.

  • Team-oriented, self-motivated, and task-driven.

  • Basic computer literacy.

  • Physically able to lift 80 lbs., work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying temperatures.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

  • Regular standing, walking, hearing, and visual activity.

  • Occasional lifting and manual dexterity tasks.

  • Work may involve exposure to hot, cold, or confined spaces.

  • Minimal travel may be required (up to 20%).
