SUMMARY:
Supervises and coordinates activities of all Imaging Support for Quality Control Imaging Assistants and Patient Access Schedulers. Acts as a liaison between technologists, radiologists, nursing, providers, and other staff with regards to patient images, medical documentation, and IR scheduling procedures. Supports timely access to care and optimize workflow efficiency. Provides guidance to staff, resolves complex issues, supports training, and quality assurance initiatives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Mentors and trains new and existing staff in procedures, systems, and best practices.
- Supervises staff in protocols pertaining to labeling and hanging images.
- Corresponds with all radiologists and other staff to resolve issues.
- Answers inquiries relating to information needed by technologists, management, radiologists, and nursing staff.
- Coordinates the methods and procedures for obtaining prior studies for comparison.
- Responsible for delivering effective coaching, leadership, and professional development for Imaging Support Staff.
- Oversees the process of scanning and entering accurate information in various TMCH systems, including PACS.
- Monitors scheduling queues and ensure timely and accurate appointment bookings.
- Assists with complex scheduling cases and resolve conflicts involving multiple departments.
- Participates in performance improvement initiatives and staff meetings.
- Supports quality assurance by auditing scheduled appointments and providing feedback.
- Verifies insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorization requirements for scheduled services.
- Collaborates with clinical departments to optimize scheduling templates and resource utilization.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Associate degree or bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or two (2) – four (4) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
EXPERIENCE: Two (2) – four (4) years of experience in a health-related field preferred.
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION: Heartsaver CPR (HSCPR or HSFACPR).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
· Knowledge of healthcare records and best practices for maintaining records.
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
· Ability to complete routine reports and correspondence.
· Ability to listen and accurately interpret others’ communication or instructions to take appropriate action; ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
· Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers; ability to read a clock and accurately document time.
· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
· Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
· Knowledge of EPIC, PACS, Medicom, Power scribe, Janus, Teams, Right Fax
