Description
The Director of Real Estate & Facilities Management is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization’s real estate portfolio, construction and expansion projects, and facilities operations. This role ensures that all existing and new locations are developed, maintained, and operated efficiently, cost-effectively, and in alignment with organizational growth goals. The Director will lead strategic planning for new site development, oversee construction and renovation projects, and manage vendor relationships to support ongoing operations across multiple states.
Responsibilities
1. Real Estate & Leasing
- Oversee the full real estate lifecycle including site selection, lease negotiations, renewals, terminations, and relocations
- Manage and maintain all lease documentation, critical dates, and landlord relationships.
- Evaluate and recommend new site opportunities, ensuring alignment with company growth strategy and market potential
- Coordinate with legal and finance teams to ensure accurate lease execution and compliance with company policies.
2. Construction & Expansion Projects
- Lead all construction and renovation projects, including de novo builds, expansions, and tenant improvements, from concept through completion.
- Develop and manage project scopes, budgets, and timelines; ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Oversee contractors, architects, engineers, and vendors to ensure quality, compliance, and timely delivery within brand standards.
3. Project Planning & Management
- Implement standardized project management tools and processes for consistent reporting and delivery.
- Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, budgets, and schedules for all real estate and facility projects.
- Maintain accountability for project milestones, cost control, and risk management.
- Provide strong project leadership, communication, and reporting to executive leadership.
4. Facilities Management
- Direct ongoing maintenance, repair, and improvement of all facilities to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance.
- Implement preventive maintenance programs and manage vendor contracts.
- Oversee capital improvement projects and space utilization strategies.
5. Financial & Administrative Oversight
- Develop and maintain budgets for real estate, construction, and facilities.
- Maintain accurate project tracking, financial reporting, and forecasting
- Ensure accountability for timelines, deliverables, and cost control across all projects.
- Ensure adherence to financial goals and cost-saving initiatives.
6. Regulatory & Compliance
- Oversee all permitting, inspections, and compliance with federal, state, and local building codes and regulations.
- Ensure environmental, safety, and accessibility standards are met.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in real estate, Construction Management, Architecture, Business Administration, or related field
- 8+ years of progressive experience in real estate development, construction management, and facility operations.
- PMP Certification preferred
- Proven track record leading multiple complex projects across multiple sites.
- Strong project management, budgeting, and procurement expertise.
- Excellent negotiation, budgeting, and vendor management skills.
- Excellent organizational and communication abilities with a strategic mindset.
- Exceptional communication and leadership abilities with a focus on strategic execution.
