On-Call Universal Worker
The Our House Residential Care Facility (RCF) is a 14-room facility with a team of expert clinicians who work with people living with HIV who are having difficulty managing independent living. By tailoring nursing, social services, and therapeutic everyday activities our clients and residents are able to define what ‘living well’ means to them. Our House of Portland, a program apart of Cascade AIDS Project is excited to announce that we are hiring skilled and team-oriented Universal Worker. This position encompasses the roles of kitchen assistant and housekeeping (in common areas only) and is responsible for working within the framework of the interdisciplinary team approach to providing residents with meals and to maintain the environmental needs of the facility.
This is an on-call role working at Our House of Portland located in SE Portland. Starting pay is $23.34 an hour
Who You Are
- At Least 18 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to pass DHS background check to work in a Residential Care Facility. Potentially Disqualifying List
- First aid certification or ability to become certified.
- Food handler’s card or ability to obtain one
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
What You’ll Do
- Reports any changes or suspected changes/problems in a resident’s condition immediately to the nurse on duty. Reports all incidents and accidents involving residents to the nurse on duty.
- Creates documentation which fulfills the needs of both roles (written and charted electronically).
- Works as a team member with all staff, residents, and volunteers collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
- Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
- Respectfully takes direction from supervisor. Deals with conflict in a professional manner.
- Attends all staff meetings and in-services. All staff must complete 12 in-service hours per year.
