 Position Summary/Purpose: 

 

As a Development Creative Specialist in the Advancement Department, you will serve a vital role in visually bringing our stories and impact to life. This position is ideal for a student with strong graphic design skills who is eager to collaborate with Advancement and Marketing teams on various digital projects that support fundraising, donor engagement, and campus storytelling.

Your work will enhance donor and prospect meetings, events, websites, and podcasts. You will also play a key role in ensuring visual content is delivered on time and aligned with GCU brand standards.

 

Primary Responsibilities /Accountabilities/ Essential Functions: 

  • Design engaging graphics, pitch decks, and visual collateral for donor meetings and development campaigns using Canva and other creative tools.

  • Collaborate with GCE Marketing to ensure alignment on branding, style, and project timelines.

  • Assist in website layout/design and provide creative input on improving user experience for external audiences.

  • Support editing and creative direction for podcasts, digital content, and videos.

  • Manage project timelines, provide regular progress updates, and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders.

  • Maintain an organized library of design assets and completed project files.

  • Assist the Advancement team with other creative needs as assigned.

 

Equipment Used and Responsibility 

  • Canva (expert level preferred)

  • Adobe Creative Suite (optional but a plus)

  • MS Office Suite

  • Web-based project tracking tools (Asana, Google Drive, etc.)

Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate GCU’s mission and impact to diverse audiences. 

  • Strong Canva experience

  • Strong problem-solving skills and creative thinking. 

Experience/  Education:

Grand Canyon University is committed to a student-first policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:

  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or a Master’s program.
  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor's level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master's level student.
  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.

Pay rate: Minimum Wage

 Expected End Date: June 30, 2026
