General Duties:
We are seeking a dedicated Interventional Radiology Nurse to provide safe, quality patient care in the pre-op, recovery, and procedure suite. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and coordinating patient care from admission to discharge, ensuring that patients receive the highest level of care.

Essential Functions:

  • Patient Assessment & Care: Assess patient status upon admission to the pre-op area, procedure suite, and/or recovery area. Continuously monitor patient status throughout the process.
  • Nursing Interventions: Provide therapeutic, quality care using the nursing process. Set priorities, document interventions, and ensure readiness for discharge.
  • Communication: Ensure clear communication with doctor’s management, and staff about patient conditions.
  • Procedure Support: Assist in implementing physician orders and ensure proper documentation of all activities.
  • Patient Education: Initiate and participate in patient and family education, assessing learning needs and readiness to learn.
  • Sedation & Safety: Maintain competencies in conscious sedation administration and patient monitoring, ensuring airway protection and safety.
  • Surgical Process Support: Anticipate and implement appropriate care during the surgical process, including maintaining a sterile environment and monitoring patient safety.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Organizational Skills: Maintain a high level of organization to meet changing needs. Ensure the facility complies with regulatory standards and achieves certification/accreditation.
  • Role Model: Serve as a mentor, providing guidance and leadership to staff, and assist in emergency procedures when needed.
  • Quality Improvement: Participate in Quality Improvement activities, identify opportunities for cost reductions, and help develop standardized patient education programs.
  • Facility Policies: Adhere to all policies, including those related to confidentiality, infection control, safety (OSHA), and attendance.

Qualifications:

  • Education/Certification/Licensure:
    • Current State of Florida RN licensure.
    • CPR certification.
    • ACLS and PALS certifications are preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of two years of pre- and post-op nursing experience, preferably in an OBL, ASC, or hospital OR setting.
  • Skills:
    • Ability to apply nursing principles and techniques to provide ongoing patient care.
    • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to develop and maintain OBL quality assurance standards.
  • Knowledge:
    • Understanding professional nursing theory and practice.
    • Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures related to patient care.
    • Ability to troubleshoot medical equipment and instruments.
    • Familiarity with common safety hazards and precautions.
