Babbitting Service Inc, (BSI) is looking to fill a Shipping Coordinator on site for the Shipping department at its South Elgin headquarters. The selected candidate will coordinate the shipment of all products, materials, and supplies. Our new hire will collaborate and communicate with the shipping team in the shop, order administrators (OA’s), service providers, and others involved in the shipment of various products both domestic and international. 

The normal work schedule is 7:30 am - 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday.

The primary duties of the role include reviewing shipment materials before distributions, collaborating with transportation systems to ensure prompt shipment pick-ups and monitoring shipment costs and productivity processes; as well as monitoring and overseeing the transfer of BSI inventory into complete jobs.

• Coordinating transportation providers to ensure prompt and proper movement of both domestic and international shipments
• Coordinating with carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries and reviewing shipment schedules to maintain efficient operations.
• Reviewing purchase orders and shipping documents to ensure accuracy.
• Making special shipping arrangements as necessary.
• Preparing closed orders for billing and invoicing.
• Ensuring all logistic activities comply with local, national, and international regulations.
• Keep up to date on the latest shipping trends.

• Comfort using common logistic management software, such UPS and FEDEX and DHL.
• Capacity to multitask.
