SUMMARY

The Admissions Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the admission process for clients in the RS EDEN Recovery Services programs. Flexibility, effective time management practices, and sound organizational skills are necessary. Must have strong customer services skills, empathy, ability to work through crisis situations in a professional, therapeutic and positive manner. This position includes light lifting and sitting for long periods of time. 

Pay range: $62,400-$74,880 per year

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understand program elements and levels of care to effectively communicate RS EDEN services to prospective clients and referral partners
  • Maintain professionalism with prospective clients and referral partners
  • Assess and reduce pre-admission barriers for clients
  • Utilize empathy to support clients throughout the pre-admission and admission process
  • Enter new clients into the EHR, upload supporting clinical documentation and complete required electronic forms in a through and timely manner
  • Complete basic screening assessments for withdrawal potential and immediate medical needs and communicate needs with nursing staff and supervisor
  • Collect urinalysis and breathalyzer screenings
  • Understand all program policies and procedures
  • Search and inventory client property upon admission
  • Assess new client immediate needs upon admission and communicate those needs to the clinical team
  • Complete comprehensive assessments as needed to support the admission process
  • Screen for mental health concerns during admission process, including suicide severity risk assessment
  • Maintain and develop positive relationships with referring agencies and collaterals
  • Collect intake statistical and demographic data
  • Maintain current information regarding both county and HMO referral procedures
  • Manage the processing and procurement of funding for all admissions and the collection of documents for incorporation into client files (ensure Rule 25, CPA’s, Service Agreement, HMO paperwork, etc.)
  • Understand and follow vulnerable adult, incident/accident policy and reporting procedures
  • Safeguard personally identifiable health information (PHI) in accordance with duties and current agency HIPAA an 42CFR notification statement and standards
  • Support the referral process with referral screenings and fax response
  • Support clinical team as needed
  • Performs other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Required:

  • Current LADC license
  • Familiarity with 245G admission criteria and requirements
  • Independent ability to complete comprehensive assessments
  • Strong clinical judgement
  • Mental health understanding in order to successfully screen at admission for potential concerns to be addressed
  • Must be able to pass applicable favorable criminal history/background check

Preferred:

  • CPR/First Aid training
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Familiarity with Procentive or other EHR systems
  • Ability to convey a positive, courteous and professional image
  • Ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds with multiple individual and systemic barriers to success
