The Systems Administrator III will be responsible for implementing and maintaining systems and infrastructure that support our enterprise environment. This role requires extensive experience with Linux, Kubernetes, and Terraform. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and scalability of our systems.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:- Provision and manage Kubernetes clusters using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles
- Diagnose and troubleshoot Kubernetes-related issues efficiently and effectively
- Develop and maintain automation scripts or plugins using PowerShell and Bash
- Schedule and execute cluster deployments and upgrades, ensuring compliance with IT policies and procedures
- Provide technical support and guidance to users and other teams as needed
- Continuously improve patching, automation, and team processes
- Follow best practices for configuring and managing Kubernetes clusters
- Provide regular status reports detailing tasks accomplished, current issues, and progress toward goals
- Create and update documentation related to Kubernetes cluster configurations, changes, and technical procedures
- Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours support
Must Have Qualifications:
- Proficiency with Linux operating systems, specifically Ubuntu
- Experience with kubectl and helm for administering Kubernetes clusters and applications.
- Ability to script in Bash and/or PowerShell
- Experience with on-premises Kubernetes cluster administration; experience with cloud platforms (Azure and GCP) is a plus
- Ability to work 100% onsite in Pontiac, Michigan
Nice to Have Qualifications:
Advanced scripting/programming skills
Experience with Golang (Go)
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Proficiency in version and code control using Git (BitBucket)
Experience with Packer for creating templates for virtual machines
