The Manager of Girl Leadership and Highest Awards will successfully manage the delivery of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) to girls in communities throughout GSEP’s footprint, with oversight of older girl leadership programming and opportunities. 

 

As the Manager of Highest Awards, this role includes management of the Bronze, Silver and Gold Award end to end processes from girl and volunteer awareness through award completion. Managing the Highest Awards processes include recruiting, training and managing volunteers to support girls in the Highest Awards program (coaches, committee members), designing, adjusting and implementing Highest Awards trainings for girls, caregivers, and troop leaders, designing and implementing programming to provide Highest Awards prerequisites for girls, and more. Additionally, this role will oversee other leadership opportunities and programs including scholarships, service bars and other leadership awards and recognitions, older girl focus and advisory groups, destinations and travel, Girl Advisory groups, and Take the Lead. This role collaborates closely with the Calling All Girl Bosses programming. Additionally, this role will support other Girl Experience programming including year-long programs and events, Camp for a Day, and other Girl Experience support as needed. 

 

Key partnerships include Girl Experience, Fund Development, Marcomm, Strategy and Evaluation, Community Engagement, and Volunteer Experience teams.  

 

Essential Qualifications: 

  • 5 years or more of experience in youth development, education, project management or related field.
  • Experience in managing staff and/or volunteers.
  • Valid driver’s license, car, and proof of current insurance.
  • Computer skills – Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience working with databases. Use of Salesforce and Looker a plus.
  • Ability to understand and monitor budgets and perform metrics.
  • Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 25 pounds.
  • Education – Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience - Essential: 

  • Demonstrated ability in planning, management, and supervision or project management.
  • Experience and interest in serving youth of all backgrounds through youth-development programming.
  • Experience planning and coordinating program activities for large numbers of diverse participants.
  • Multi-level data management and reporting.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, meet deadlines, and manage time efficiently.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills including the ability to articulate the mission and goals of GSEP to the membership and to the community.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to take ownership and responsibility for all performance-related goals.
  • Willing to work weekends and nights as necessary.

Other: 

  • Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm with an hour lunch.
  • Weekends and evenings required for key program delivery.
  • This is a full-time position (35 hours/week)
  • Approximately 25% travel
  • Membership as a registered Girl Scout
