Center for Human Development, (CHD) is seeking an Assistant Program Director to join our Transition to Independent Living Program (TILP). The TILP program supports youths, ages 17-22 years of age, that are referred to by the Massachusetts DCF program. The youths we support will reside in scattered site community apartments where we work with them to build a strong foundation for living independently inclusive of daily living skills, vocational and educational endeavors, fiscal responsibility and behavioral and emotional stability, interpersonal skills, mental and physical health, family and peer relationships and community connection.
YOUR ROLE AS AN ASSISTANT PROGRAM DIRECTOR:
The Assistant Program Director works closely with the Program Director providing information and changes and implementing new protocols, which aid in the delivery of services. The Assistant Program Director provides supervision to the professional staff in the program. You will assist in the day-to-day operations of the program in the areas of fiscal management, quality improvement and the health and safety of clients and staff. You’ll provide opportunities for training and support of all staff members in order to enhance effectiveness and to foster on-going growth and development. You will be a liaison to contracting agencies and the community who creates and maintains effectual, open lines of communication.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in related human service field (can be substituted for experience)
- Supervisory experience
- Valid driver’s license and have a legally registered and insured car for work use
- Knowledge of children, youth and families
- Knowledge of state youth serving agencies and systems
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assists in the development and implementation of youth individualized treatment plans
- Assesses children prior to intake for appropriateness of placement in the program
- Participates in school, quarterly treatment and discharge planning meetings
- Ensure program staff are guiding activities of daily living and daily household activities
- Attends foster care reviews and court appearances with youth as needed
- Schedules and attends medical appointments when necessary
- Interacts directly with youth in order to assess needs, provide information, discuss problems, set limits and encourage growth and development
