SUMMARY

IT Business Analyst role is a key connection between business stakeholders and IT teams. This person identifies problems, proposes improvements, and ensures that IT solutions support business goals.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Work with stakeholders to gather business needs and translate them into clear IT requirements.
  • Partner with programmers and IT personnel to implement effective solutions.
  • Create technical specifications, testing procedures, and process documentation for IT projects.
  • Analyze existing systems and processes to identify inefficiencies and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Perform software and hardware changes that do not require programming.
  • Use project management tools to manage larger IT projects.
  • Ensure compliance of IT systems with company security policies and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct post-implementation evaluations to measure project success and identify future improvements.
  • Works with users to help them understand and use the systems in place. 
  • Document processes and perform training.


QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities to design effective IT solutions.
  • Experience as a Business Analyst, with exposure to IT systems in manufacturing or distribution.
  • Familiarity with project management tools to track progress and deliver results.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and stay calm under pressure.
  • Knowledge of IT trends and readiness to learn new technologies quickly.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or an Associate’s degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Work history in manufacturing, distribution, customer service, or quality environments.
  • Hands-on experience with project management tools.


COMMUNICATION SKILLS

  • Good Verbal and Written Communication Skills
  • Strong technical and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers and provide high-quality customer support
  • Ability to effectively communicate with management on issues, solutions, and make presentations on complex topics
  • Ability to interact effectively and efficiently in high-stress situations


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.


REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
