IT Support Specialist en Galloway Ridge, Inc.

Under the direction of the Director of Information Technology, the IT Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical assistance, troubleshooting, repair, and support/training as it relates to consumer and business technologies for residents, employees, and community operations.  

This position will be in person. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Provide troubleshooting and support regarding resident technical issues. This includes assessing and diagnosing cable TV issues and repairing or escalating to Spectrum support when appropriate, installing or diagnosing TVs or sound systems, diagnosing landline or cell phone issues and escalating to the appropriate carrier when necessary, updating an OS or device drivers,   installing consumer antivirus, and setting up/diagnosis (teach and train as required) a variety of consumer technologies, including: smart TVs, streaming devices (Roku, Amazon Fire TV, etc.), Amazon Echo, smart-phones, tablets, printers, smart speakers, smart home technology, basic support of Windows/ChromeOS/Android/iOS/MacOS/etc. 
• Provide technology recommendations for residents when asked. 
• Password and account recovery for various public websites/systems. 
• Assistance with stolen digital identities, or recovery from crypto locker, malware, scams via email or telephone. 
• Provide troubleshooting and support regarding business (and employee) technical issues. This includes: resolving issues related to hardware (PC, printers, tablets, VOIP Phones), networking (cabling, routing, switching, Wi-Fi), software (MS Office, Apps, various other programs/websites), and other owned and vendor systems (Point-of-Sale, EMR, Active Directory, Google Workspace, Pharmacy/medicine administration, Time clocks, Audio/Video systems, Surveillance, Access Control,  Multifunction printers), checking devices for communication and cabling issues, organize data closets, working with our staff to help them utilize technology for their workflow (word/excel, google docs/sheets/slides), creating and disabling users across our systems, checking for unused accounts, network security, password resets, and assigning correct user permissions with inclusion in the correct security and distribution groups. 
• Updates to endpoint systems / software. 
• Creation/Deletion of Access Control key fobs. 
• AV equipment and assistance with special event AV needs.
• Complete quarterly training via our online Relias learning platform. 
• Other duties as assigned by the IT Manager or Director of Information Technology.
• All other duties assigned include, but not limited to, enhancing the Resident Experience.

Requirements

• High School or GED 
• Intuition and confidence with using modern technology
• Confidence with android/iOS smartphones/tablets, mac/pc computers, and smart TV platforms.
• Ability to effectively use internet search to find solutions to technical issues and translate that into a solution.
• Basic understanding of consumer-grade networking and wireless
• Basic understanding of cable TV and landline telephone
• Great time management and scheduling skills
• Excellent customer service: friendly, patient, and professional
• Ability to learn quickly and solve problems effectively
