Primary Function and Reporting 

Responsible for assessing and managing supplier quality issues and supporting the improvement process by:

  • Verifying suspect parts in accordance with engineering, product, customer and industry requirements.
  • Managing the quarantined inventory to provide timely disposition and prevent an excessive backlog.
  • Reporting on the key performance indicators (KPIs) and identifying open actions.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the MRR (material rejection report) log.
  • Monitor aging of open items and follow up weekly on the past due issues and backlog.
  • Communicate with suppliers to address concerns and improve the ATC-Supplier relationships.
  • Provide input and guidance for resolution of issues.
  • Issue Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARS) and follow-up on the supplier response.
  • Escalate serious or repetitive issues to the Supplier Quality Engineer and plant leadership.
  • Facilitate and coordinate return and shipment of non-conforming material to suppliers.
  • Support the suspect material assessment activities.
  • Assist and support the PPAP and ISIR (dimensional) evaluation of new components.
  • Communicate the supplier issues to the Cross-Functional Teams (Including but not limited to Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Warehousing).
  • Provide monthly reporting to the Supplier Quality Engineer and plant leadership, including past due aging and the inventory value of quarantined material.

Additional Tasks

  • While the main focus of the Supplier Quality Tech will be issue management, improvement, and reporting, responsibilities will also include Quality Training for new hires and occasional support for the Quality Engineering Team.
