This is a 12-week internship starting in May or June 2026 depending on your availability. Nutanix offers both remote and hybrid internships where you will work from the Durham, NC or San Jose, CA office 3+ days/week.

About the Team

The Visual Design Summer Intern will join the User Experience team at Nutanix, which is located in a hybrid setup with members based in various geographic locations. This team is dedicated to creating intuitive, user-friendly designs that enhance the customer experience. The culture within the team emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to excellence, fostering an environment where creative ideas can thrive. The mission of the team is to deliver high-quality design solutions that not only meet user needs but also align with Nutanix's vision of simplifying cloud environments for businesses.

You will report to the Sr. Manager, who leads with a supportive and empowering leadership style, encouraging team members to take ownership of their projects while providing guidance and mentorship. The work setup is hybrid, requiring interns to come into the office two days a week to collaborate closely with team members and participate in hands-on design reviews and brainstorming sessions.

Your Role

• Learn and implement Enterprise UX design best practices.
• Develop a higher design acumen for quality and data informed experiences.
• Take responsibility for designing a part of our product with guidance and direction from senior team members
• Participate in user research sessions and learn about our end-users
• Seek to understand the purpose and intent of products and projects
• Broaden your design skills and develop technical domain expertise

What You Will Bring

• Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without the need 
  for current or future sponsorship for employment visa status e.g. 
  F1, H1B, TN, etc
• You are pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Art or a related engineering field.
• A focus on or interest in Human-Computer Interaction, Human interface Design or similar.
• Prior experience in creative tools such as Figma or similar tools.
• Knowledge of AI enterprise solutions
• An updated Design portfolio

Work Arrangement

Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. For most roles, that will mean coming into an office a minimum of 3 days per week, however certain roles and/or teams may require more frequent in-office presence. Additional team-specific guidance and norms will be provided by your manager.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $ 36 and USD $ 65 per hour.

However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
