About the Department
Alamance County Government is seeking a forward-thinking and highly skilled Human Resources Manager to help lead a dynamic and innovative HR team. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to strategic HR initiatives that attract, develop, and retain top talent across the organization.
The Human Resources Manager will work closely with the HR Director to oversee the daily operations of the Human Resources Department, providing leadership and expertise in areas such as employee relations, benefits and wellness, classification and compensation, recruitment, training, and compliance. Position Duties
- Leadership & Strategic Support
- Partner with the HR Director to plan, implement, and evaluate human resources policies, programs, and initiatives.
- Assist with employee engagement, retention, and organizational effectiveness initiatives.
- Recruitment & Workforce Development
- Oversee the development and implementation of innovative recruitment and retention strategies to attract diverse, high-quality candidates.
- Partner with departments to ensure equitable and competitive hiring practices.
- Compensation, Benefits & Wellness
- Manage County’s classification and compensation program to ensure internal equity and market competitiveness.
- Monitor compensation and benefits trends and recommend program enhancements.
- Employee Relations & Compliance
- Assist with handling workplace investigations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including FLSA, FMLA, Title VII, ADA, and other mandates.
- Interpret and apply HR policies and recommend updates as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, public administration, business, or related field. Five (5) years of progressive HR experience, including three (3) years in an HR supervisory or management role. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Extensive knowledge of HR functional areas including classification/compensation, employee relations, recruitment, training and development, benefits, and compliance.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems.
