07The Role: Data Researcher 1
The Team: The Datacenter Services and Infrastructure team is part of the Technology, Media, and Telecom (TMT) domain within the Market Intelligence division at S&P Global. The team has been deeply involved with the datacenter market for over a decade, producing both qualitative and quantitative analysis of the market while tracking nearly 12,000 datacenters worldwide, as well as monitoring new developments. Armed with this data, the team publishes market and company specific reports, containing news, trends, and insights and provides insight into the competitive strategies of the providers; the considerations and needs of their customers; and trends in geographic markets.
The Impact: As a data researcher, you are responsible for data collection and entry as well as potentially writing market-specific research. You will help to maintain the most up-to-date market data by collaborating with teammates and will participate in projects to ensure the data integrity. This is reflected directly in the product that our clients use when making investment and other key decisions. The ideal candidate will be fluent in English.

Responsibilities:
- Search publicly available news and data sources.
- Gather data points from both public and private companies and update/maintain the data accurately in our proprietary database.
- Convert (translate/localize) documents in the source language to the target language (Chinese to English and vice-versa) as needed to update data in our database and provide information on trends to regional analysts.
- Deliver on predefined individual and team targets including delivering outcomes with quality and excellence.
- Escalate concerns on time and with correct line of communication and appropriate response to co-workers & management team.
What We’re Looking For:
Basic Qualifications
- Proficiency or native competency in English.
- Should have good analytical skills to conduct thorough objective research, and with good attention to detail.
- Well-versed with information research on the internet and desktop applications such as Microsoft Office 365 (MS Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to interact with different levels and deal with issues in a mature and professional manner (excellent interpersonal skills to facilitate effective communication across teams)
- The ability to work in a team as well as independently.
- Strong time management skills – must be able prioritize, multi-task, and deliver regarding work deadlines, service level agreements, and targets set.
- An inquisitive and investigative nature, and a highly motivated, positive attitude.
- Knowledge of or interest in the datacenter industry is a plus.
