About the role

 

As the Senior Contract Management Officer, you will manage the contracts with book and textbook suppliers, ensuring schools receive the right textbooks and learning resources, balancing cost, quality and efficiency. Your responsibilities include:  

  • Opportunity to make a direct impact to students and teachers across NSW to have the resources they need to succeed
  • Monitoring suppliers’ performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations are adhered to
  • Conduct the procure to pay process including quotes and assisting schools identify the correct products
  • Conducting supplier induction programs to clarify obligations, monitor compliance with agreements
  • Manage and draft reports regarding contract compliance, financial expenditures and customer satisfaction to support strategic decision-making. 
  • Building strong working relationships with schools to identify and simplify order and delivery processes to reduce administrative burden on schools.
  • Developing strong stakeholder engagement to find new ideas and innovation in educational resources

 

You’ll be the person who ensures our schools get the best value, the right resources, and timely delivery, so teachers can focus on teaching and students can focus on learning!

About you

 

To be successful in this role you will bring proven experience in contract management and procurement experience or in the textbook/publishing industry. You are detail-oriented, proactive and skilled at process improvement, solving problems and ability to deliver results under pressure.

 You will also demonstrate:

  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to cultivate effective stakeholder relationships
  • Strong analytical for monitoring compliance and preparing comprehensive reports
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure and consistently meet tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
  • Experience in either procurement or the textbook, publishing or related industry would be high regarded.

 

 

Essential requirements of the role

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.

This option would allow the WWCC to naturally expire without further communication needed with the employee.
