Impact (Job Summary/Why this Role Matters)
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Manager to lead and evolve our Identity and Access Management (IAM) Operations function. In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing, the day-to-day operations for our IAM systems and processes. Ensuring the secure, efficient, and compliant management of identities, accesses and entitlements across the organization. You will lead a team of IAM professionals to ensure that access controls are appropriately maintained and that IAM processes are streamlined, reliable and aligned with the industry best practices.
Key Deliverables (Duties and Responsibilities)
- Monitor and optimize IAM tools and systems (Eg., Okta, Azure, AD, SailPoint) for performance, scalability and security.
- Ensure that identity and access requests (eg., joiners, mover, leavers) are processed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Experience in logging, alerting, and exception handling mechanisms to ensure reliability and traceability
- Act as the escalation point for IAM related incidents or service disruptions ensuring timely investigation and resolution.
- Lead root cause analysis for IAM related issues and incidents, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Work closely with internal IT teams, Security and other business functions to ensure IAM operations are aligned with broader security and operational objectives.
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of IAM operations.
- Provide regular reporting on IAM operations performance, incident response and compliance status to senior leadership.
- Ensure all IAM operations activities are documented in accordance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Skills and Qualification (Functional and Technical Skills)
Functional Skills:
- Good understanding on Active Directory
- 9+ years of experience in identity and access management operations with 2-3 years in a leadership or management capacity
- Familiarity with IAM concepts including access certifications, attestations, and privileged access governance
- In depth knowledge of identity lifecycle management, access control models (RBAC, ABAC etc)
- Good understanding of access governance, authentication protocols (Eg. SAML, OAuth etc)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
- Strong problem-solving, analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with IT, Security and business stakeholders.
Technical/Business Skills:
- Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong hands on experience with IAM tools and technologies such as Okta, Azure, AD, SailPoint, Ping etc.
- Basic understanding of IAM Risk Framework and Identity Life Cycle Management.
- Experience in automating processes or access governance workflows
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as NIST SP 800-53, SOX, or ISO 27001
- Background in financial services or regulated industries
- Familiarity with IAM processes and operations to automate workflows.
Leadership Qualities
- Lead and manage the IAM Operations team, overseeing day-to-day operations, service delivery and performance.
- Ensure the team provides timely, high-quality support for identity provisioning, de-provisioning, workflows, ensuring compliance with security policies and company protocols.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning and accountability within the team.
