Location: Darlaston Swimming and Fitness Centre
Grade: G4 - 32 hours per week
Salary: Grade G4 pts 7-11 (Pro rata to hours worked)
Service Area: Sport & Leisure
Reports to: Duty Manager / Shift Supervisor
About the Role
We are seeking a friendly and professional Centre Assistant to join our team at Darlaston Swimming and Fitness Centre. This front-line role is vital in ensuring a welcoming environment for our customers and supporting the smooth operation of our facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle payments for services in line with financial procedures
- Assist customers with enquiries in person, via email, and over the phone
- Perform routine administrative tasks
- Control access to facilities following operating procedures
- Operate office and ICT equipment
- Enter data into ICT management systems
- Maintain a safe environment for staff and customers
- Support coordination of swimming lesson programmes
- Assist with promotional activities within the centre
- Communicate effectively with customers in spoken English
Essential Skills & Abilities
- Strong understanding of customer care in a service environment
- Ability to process payments and perform administrative tasks
- Ability to enforce access policies and maintain safety standards
- Competence in using office equipment and leisure-specific IT systems
- Knowledge of data protection and confidentiality
