Position Summary:
The Market Clerk is responsible for selling a variety of items including sundries, Schweitzer-branded merchandise, ice cream, beer, bottled liquor, and other beverages. This role requires compliance with Idaho state laws regarding alcohol sales; therefore, applicants must be 21 years of age or older.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays. Hours of work will extend past lift operations.
Essential Functions and Major Responsibilities:
- Provide friendly, outgoing, and professional customer service at all times.
- Accurately verify customer age by checking identification for alcohol purchases.
- Proactively address operational needs with minimal supervision.
- Maintain accurate cash handling procedures and balance the cash till daily.
- Restock goods as needed.
- Ensure the work area is clean, organized, and presentable to the public.

Specific Job Skills:
License/Certifications- Idaho State Police Alcohol Beverage Training Certificate, we will help you acquire.
Technical- Basic computer knowledge and comfortable with a computer based point of sale (Squirrel is our current system).
Physical Capabilities- Able to stand or walk for up to 10 hours per shift. Will lift 25lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.

Education/Related Experience:
Minimum education required – English reading writing and communication, High School diploma or GED preferred
Minimum time in related position- 6 months cash handling position preferably in retail.
