Purpose
As a Graduate Research Assistant, you’ll collaborate with Professor Cunningham at the LBJ School of Public Affairs to explore and examine criminal justice policies. Projects will include: assessing the consequences of LBJ’s War on Crime, evaluating the impact of prison oversight, and analyzing crime trends in Texas.
Responsibilities
Duties include but are not limited to:
Assist with the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data relevant to criminal justice policies.
Support the development of policy impact models and conduct literature reviews to evaluate policy impacts.
Prepare comprehensive reports and policy briefs to communicate findings effectively.
Work closely with Professor Cunningham and the research team to contribute to ongoing projects.
Required Qualifications
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis and previous use of statistical software (e.g., Stata, R, Python) is desired but not required.
GRAs must meet the Conditions for Student Employment set forth by the Office of Graduate Studies.

Preferred Qualifications
Interested in Economics, Law, Public Policy, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
Salary Range
$1,875.50 per month for a Master’s student.
$2,612.58 per month for a Ph.D. student.
