Part time with Benefit Eligibility- 3 day work week no weekends or nights- ideal schedule below however we are also flexible-

Mondays 8:30-4:30

Thursdays 8:30-4:30

Fridays 9-2:30

Summary

Evaluates, assesses, and plans clinical nutrition care specific to adult outpatients with cancer. Additionally, provides nutritional information to staff, physicians, students and the community individually and through group programs. Reports directly to the Cancer Center Program Director and indirectly to the Director of Nutrition Services for professional growth and development.

Education

Five to six years of formal training or education beyond the high school level (e.g., Masters Degree or five-year program). Four year degree in Nutrition Science or equivalent and Dietetic Internship.  Must have obtained a specialty certification in Oncology Nutrition through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (DR). 

Certification, Registration & Licensure

Board certification as a specialist in oncology nutrition (CSO)

Registration required: Registered Dietitian - R.D.

Licensure required: Licensed Dietitian - L.D.

Experience

At least two years experience as a Registered Dietitian. Experience in oncology and/or out patient is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Completes comprehensive nutrition assessments.

  • Communicates recommendations to the patient and clinical team.

  • Conducts patient and community education programs related to nutrition and cancer.

  • Develops, implements and refines referral process for nutrition services in the cancer center.

  • Develops expertise in nutritional supplements and cancer related complementary/alternative therapies

    (CAM) and diets.

  • Demonstrates adaptability, flexibility and timeliness in managing workload and processes required to meet patient care and departmental needs.

  • Ensures current nutritional cancer related educational and resource materials are available for patients

    and the community.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Takes responsibility for individual performance goals.
