POSITION: FLEET INVENTORY CLERK
The Fleet Inventory Clerk ensures operational efficiency by managing inventory control, procurement, and vendor coordination for fleet parts, supplies, and surplus materials. This role supports Operations by maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring timely availability of resources in a fast-paced environment.
DUTIES TO PERFORM:
- Order and track fleet inventory parts and supplies to support operational needs.
- Accurately receive, record, and issue inventory and maintain organized and accurate records.
- Optimize inventory levels to minimize waste and reduce overstock in alignment with company sustainability goals.
- Generate inventory reorder reports to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize waste.
- Process obsolete inventory items.
- Collaborate with Fleet shop to ensure timely fulfillment of job requisition inventory orders.
- Collaborate with the Fleet shop to ensure all mixed components are completed timely.
- Coordinate the procurement and distribution of heavy equipment fluids, ensuring compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations.
- Schedule calibration and maintenance for specialized fleet equipment, including tensiometers, as required.
- Complete the physical inventory counts to verify accuracy and address discrepancies.
- Negotiate with vendors to secure competitive pricing and resolve issues related to delivery delays or discrepancies.
- Achieve KPIs such as 98% inventory accuracy, timely fulfillment of job requisitions, and cost savings through vendor price comparisons.
- Manage the battery consignment vendor and all processes.
- Maintain the Surplus Materials Warehouse, ensuring items are stored in designated locations.
- Conduct regular audits of the Surplus Materials Warehouse to ensure inventory accuracy and compliance with control standards.
- Ensure all material is counted, roll certifications are received for liner, and miscellaneous items are tracked.
- Deplete surplus material through the job requisition process to optimize inventory usage.
- Create purchase orders and process the receiving of items and/or services.
- Review invoices for accuracy and resolve discrepancies quickly and effectively.
- Resolve any issues with equipment vendors.
- Create job requisitions for Fleet, as needed.
- Order fleet shop supplies as requested.
- Manage the receiving and delivery of packages to the office.
- Create and update the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the Fleet Inventory Clerk position.
- Manage a high volume of telephone calls and inbound and outbound emails.
- Work safely and adhere to all safety and company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Attend scheduled meetings as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
