Summary:
Mercy Flights is seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Flight Nurse (RN) to join our elite air and ground critical care transport team. This role plays a vital part in delivering high-quality, advanced life support and critical care to patients in emergency and interfacility transport settings. Work Schedule & Travel:

  • Rotating 24-hour shifts (2 shifts on, 5 days off in a two-week period)

  • Occasional out-of-area and overnight travel for training or assignments

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced life support and critical care during helicopter, fixed-wing, and ground ambulance transports

  • Ensure safe, compassionate, and effective care for patients in emergent and non-emergent situations

  • Communicate clearly with dispatch, hospital staff, and team members

  • Maintain readiness of aircraft, ground ambulances, and medical equipment

  • Function as a team leader in both pre-hospital and hospital settings

  • Complete accurate, timely Patient Care Reports

  • Support ongoing training and quality assurance efforts

Qualifications & Requirements:
Education :

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited Registered Nurse (RN) program

  • Eligible for Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) license

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of current experience in Emergency Department (ED) or Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

  • Recent flight nursing experience preferred

Certifications/Licenses:

  • Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) License (required)

  • Oregon EMT or Paramedic License (preferred)

  • Oregon Driver’s License (required within 30 days if relocating)

  • BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP (required)

  • NRP (within 12 months of hire)

  • Certified Flight RN (CFRN) and TPATC (within 18 months of hire)

  • Completion of approved critical care training program (within 12 months)

Additional Requirements:

  • Must pass pre-employment and annual flight physical and functional testing

  • Weight must be under 230 lbs in full uniform for aircraft safety

  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, documentation, and teamwork skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic patient care reporting
