Description
The Rose is seeking a Medical Records/HIM specialist to manage and review medical data to improve patient care, ensure data accuracy, and support healthcare operations. Key duties include maintaining and updating patient records (both digital and paper), verifying the completeness of information. Must have experience and knowledge of information technology and healthcare to handle systems like electronic health records (EHRs).
- Ensures the batching, dropping, and faxing completed exam reports, QA of reports and patient letters and makes corrections as necessary. Making sure previous exams are solved in patient’s PenRad account.
- Ensures that all new referring physician data and changes and/or corrections are made in an accurate and timely manner to our report and billing systems.
- Takes report calls questions from physicians, clinics, patients and re-faxes procedure reports as requested in a timely manner.
- Performs quality assurance on abnormal patient reports, patient report letters; ensures the copying of positive films and relays information in an accurate and timely manner.
Requirements
- HS Diploma / Equivalent
- Medical terminology certificate, preferred
- Minimum of 2-years of experience, preferred
- Bilingual, Spanish
