What You Will Be Doing:
This position serves as the Teacher Certification lead, overseeing compliance and special cases. In this role, you will resolve complex certification issues, interpret and apply Alaska statutes and regulations, and act with delegated authority in the absence of the Teacher Certification Administrator. The position requires leading the certification team in a solution-centered, collaborative manner, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high-quality service. The role entails a strong focus on system efficiency and process enhancement, using data and measurable outcomes to inform decisions, set goals, and track progress. Responsibilities also include maintaining compliance data, training and mentoring certification staff, and supporting initiatives that directly improve services for Alaska’s educators and school districts.

Who We Are Looking For:
- Demonstrates leadership by guiding teams, fostering collaboration, and driving process improvements.

- Applies in-depth knowledge of teacher certification statutes, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Maintains high attention to detail and confidentiality while utilizing Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and data/reporting tools.
Position Duties
(1) Graduation from an accredited college, preferably in administration and/or education. AND One year of experience as an Education Associate 2 with the State of Alaska or the equivalent elsewhere.
OR
(2) Six years of experience in the broad field of education, counseling or administrative services, two years of which were at the technical/paraprofessional.
OR
(3) Any combination of the above.
Substitution: In option 2, graduate study may be substituted for the required specialized experience on a year-for-year basis. Undergraduate study, preferably in administration and/or education may also substitute for the generalized experience in option 2 on a year-for-year basis.

It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
