How We Serve
The Department of Human Services and Rent Stabilization provides planning, direction, coordination, and implementation of the programs and projects of the Rent Stabilization Division and the Human Services Division. Staff support vulnerable community members through programs, policies, and coordinated strategies.
The Rent Stabilization Division administers rent stabilization and tenant protections through the Rent Stabilization Ordinance (RSO) and Rent Regulations. The Division provides resources for tenants and landlords in the community such as protections and policy, property registration, rental assistance programs, and legal support.
The community’s priorities are reflected in the City’s core values, which include: respect and support for people; responsiveness to the public; idealism, creativity, and innovation; quality of residential life; promotion of economic development; public safety; and responsibility for the environment. What You’ll Contribute
This position requires exceptional organizational skills, strong attention to detail, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to manage complex administrative processes with discretion and professionalism. You'll coordinate workflows across internal departments, affordable housing partners, and community stakeholders while handling sensitive tenant information and confidential matters. Active responsibilities include supporting rent stabilization program operations, coordinating communications between staff, residents, and housing providers, processing and tracking housing documents and requests, managing complex meeting logistics, and serving as a key liaison connecting community members to essential services and support.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and other relevant software.
- The ability to work with sensitive information with confidentiality.

Selection Process: Qualified candidates will be invited to an in-house interview with the hiring department as part of the selection process. Interviews are tentatively scheduled for the week of October 27th.
Reports to: Rent Stabilization Manager
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED; Associate’s degree in related field is preferred; and,
- Four to five years of progressively responsible related experience; (para legal experience – depending on assignment); or,
- Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
