Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children, youth, and families? We're looking for compassionate, skilled Outpatient Therapist to join our dynamic team!

 

In this role, you'll provide individual, family, and group therapy using culturally informed, evidence-based approaches. You'll work closely with clients to set meaningful goals, respond to referrals, complete assessments, and create personalized treatment plans. As the Outpatient Therapist you will collaborate with schools, providers, and community resources, offer crisis support when needed, and grow professionally through individual and group supervision. Team members work with children and families providing services almost exclusively in the community: in families’ homes, schools, other community locations in San Jose, CA.

 

ABOUT OUTPATIENT

Seneca Family of Agencies' Outpatient program is responsible for the ongoing provision of culturally competent mental health services to clients between the ages of 5 - 22 and their families, including individual and family therapy. The Outpatient program utilizes a set a practices which have been determined by the ethnic community consensus to yield positive results and reached a level of acceptance by the community being served. The families that we serve identify as Latinx or African/African American. Interventions shall infuse a world view, contextual aspects and include a set of practices that are culturally rooted as a central and fundamental approach.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide child, family and/or group therapy utilizing culturally informed and best practice modalities
  • Work in partnership with children, youth and families to determine their goals within therapy
  • Promptly respond to referrals of children and adolescents who present with symptoms of psychiatric disorders
  • Complete assessment and evaluation process of assigned clients including: obtaining consents for all aspects of treatment, obtaining relevant documents and meeting/speaking with various adults or professionals involved in the client’s life to develop and implement the treatment plan
  • On cases that indicate a medical necessity for treatment, implement a case specific treatment plan to provide mental health services including individual, family and group therapy in addition to case management, linkage and consultation with community resources including schools and other providers
  • Maintain availability for crisis intervention services and complete incident reports in adherence to agency timeline
  • Complete documentation in compliance with all requirements and timely reviews of all assigned cases
  • Participate in individual and group supervision

 

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED:

  • Master’s degree in social work/psychology/counseling
  • Registered with California BBS: ASW, AMFT, APCC, or full licensed
  • Bilingual Spanish skill set, pass language proficiency assessment
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work some evenings and weekend hours as needed
  • Be part of a rotating emergency on-call system, scheduled ahead of time
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and insurability through Seneca Family of Agencies’ insurance policy
  • TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements

PREFERRED:

  • Experienced in therapy, crisis response, and behavior management
  • Experience working with children in out-of-home care
  • Skilled in engaging youth and families with participation challenges

 

SCHEDULE

  • Full-time; Monday - Friday
    • Flexible start time, staff will work into the evening (client based schedule)
  • Hybrid; provide in-person services & complete documentation remotely
  • On-call, scheduled ahead of time with program supervisor

  • Starting at $93,969 - $107,969 per year, commensurate with experience
    • Additional $4000 salary increase for BBS licensure
