Our experienced team provides expert care during critical moments, supporting both primary care referrals and walk-in emergencies.

As we continue to grow, we’re opening a new full-time opportunity for a Veterinary Triage Assistant or Technician to join our Emergency & ICU team.

As our Triage Assistant/Technician, you'll play a vital role in patient intake, stabilization, and supporting the smooth flow of cases between ER and ICU. You’ll be the bridge between the front desk and medical teams—ensuring patients are quickly and safely assessed, comforted, and prepared for further care.

🕓 Position Details:

  • Role: Veterinary Triage Assistant or Veterinary Technician
  • Type: Full-Time, Set Schedule: Monday - Thursday's 5 PM - 3 AM
  • Department: Emergency Room & ICU Support
  • Location:  6393 Lee Hwy, Chattanooga, TN 37421

🐶 What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Assist in triaging incoming ER cases and helping determine urgency
  • Communicate patient status to the ER/ICU medical teams quickly and clearly
  • Support patient intake and prepare for examination or immediate care
  • Safely restrain animals during triage, assessments, and treatments
  • Monitor patient comfort and provide basic care (feeding, walks, hygiene)
  • Assist in setting up equipment, restocking supplies, and maintaining clean treatment areas
  • Collaborate with a supportive and experienced emergency team
  • Observe and learn hands-on emergency procedures, diagnostics, and critical care techniques

✅ What We’re Looking For:

Required Qualifications:
  • At least 6 months to 1 year of experience in a veterinary clinical setting (GP, ER, or specialty)
  • Comfortable working with dogs and cats of all temperaments and sizes
  • Basic handling and animal restraint skills
  • Familiarity with common veterinary terminology and clinical workflows
  • Excellent communication and multitasking skills
  • Positive attitude and eagerness to learn in a high-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT/LVMT) in Tennessee (or eligibility)
  • Previous experience in triage, ER, or ICU settings
  • Knowledge of basic emergency protocols, medication routes, or diagnostic tools (e.g. thermometers, stethoscopes, monitors)
