The Payroll Partner is responsible for efficiently managing our payroll administration across our LATAM region, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and delivering exceptional service to our employees. You will collaborate closely with the Reward & Benefits team, People & Culture Operational teams, Finance Operations, and external vendors to maintain accurate employee records, process payroll, and administer benefits payments and compliance of various employee benefits programs. In addition, you will provide accurate payroll analysis, working across multiple global entities to ensure that a competitive pay and benefits scheme is delivered to all employees.

You will act as a subject matter expert for payroll, aligning global policies to support a fast-growing business. You will provide a day-to-day point of liaison between outsourced providers and the business, creating beneficial relationships and managing issues in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee payroll execution and governance for several global entities  
  • Lead on the set up of new market entry payroll projects
  • Ensure compliance with local payroll regulations and taxation
  • Review, audit, and report bi-weekly and monthly payroll data, identifying changes in taxation or employee benefits, analysing accordingly
  • Provide guidance on payroll best practices identifying areas of improvement to enhance efficiency across all payroll processes
  • Prepare payroll journals for accounting purposes 
  • Prepare payroll-related reports, including tax filings, benefits compliance reports, and reconciliations
  • Provide support to resolve payroll discrepancies and engage third-party providers as appropriate
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with global payroll providers
  • Ensure that all payroll information is accurately provided to employees both during hiring processes, onboarding and during the employee lifecycle.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure data accuracy and integrity in payroll systems
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll legislation and regulations and implement necessary adjustments to remain compliant
  • Assist with special projects related to payroll, compensation and benefits analysis as required

What we are looking for

Required attributes:
  • Degree qualified in Accounting or other Business Functions
  • Experience in payroll legislation for Brazil and working knowledge of local taxation and compliance legislation
  • Intermediate/Advanced Excel Skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong knowledge of analysis and project management tools 
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision, takes initiative to seek solutions
  • Ability to respect, protect and maintain highly confidential information
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese at C1 level is essential (written & oral)
 
Desirable attributes:
  • A recognized payroll qualification e.g. CPP
  • Knowledge of EY payroll systems
  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Dynamics 360 
  • Additional Spanish language skills
