Specialized Instructional Aide - Elementary School North en Barbers Hill ISD

Job Description:

Assist general education and special education teachers in preparation and management of classroom activities and materials.  Work under the supervision of a certified teacher.  Involves working with children who have special needs.

Start Date:  November, 2025

Salary Range: (Based on 2025-2026 Compensation Plan):

Minimum:  $12.65/hour

Midpoint:   $14.63/hour

Salary offered will be commensurate with related experience

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED

Have met formal academic assessment, associate’s degree, or two years of study at an institution of higher learning

Valid Texas Educational Aide Certificate (District will make application to TEA once candidate is selected)

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to work with young children 

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

Ability to communicate effectively

Knowledge of general office equipment

Willing to learn usage of assistive technology devices
