Approximate substitute dates: November 1, 2025 - March 30, 2026

QUALIFICATIONS

• Candidate must hold an Education License with School Counseling Endorsement (completed a Master’s Degree in School Counseling).

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Experience working with diverse backgrounds of students and families

• Knowledge and experience providing a comprehensive counseling model focused on academic, career, and social/emotional development

• Knowledge of social/emotional learning (SEL) and the role of a school counselor supporting SEL at all Multi-tier levels of support within the school setting. 

• Knowledge of Career Development and post-high school options and the role of the counselor in a developmental model of service delivery.

• Ability to appraise and advise in large-group, classroom, small group and individual settings. 

• Knowledge and experience providing short-term counseling in both group and individual settings.

• Knowledge and understanding of the referral process (when, how, whom) to appropriate resources

• Experience working with Student Support Teams 

• Knowledge of and experience working in a school using Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), including experience at all three Tiers in academic and behavioral interventions.

• Knowledge and understanding of legal, ethical issues and trends in education and the counseling profession

• Experiencing providing small group and classroom lessons to students at all academic and developmental levels.

• An understanding of equity work in the school systems and identification of equity gaps in student and family populations

• Experience with Infinite Campus and SchooLink

• Other duties assigned by the Board of Education and Administration
