- Assist IMs in managing portfolios for a wide range of discretionary and advisory clients, including individuals, families, trusts, corporates, and charities, tailored to each client’s specific needs.
 - Support the implementation and maintenance of investment models, ensuring client portfolios are aligned with team strategies and objectives.
 - Conduct regular portfolio reviews to assess ongoing suitability and performance, providing insights and recommendations to IMs.
 - Ensure timely and efficient handling of client communications and instructions.
 - Execute trades in equities, collectives, and structured products on an execution-only basis or as directed.
 - Contribute to the development of investment proposals and schemes for new clients.
 - Monitor portfolio outliers and ensure appropriate action or documentation is in place.
 - Prepare rationales for client transactions and trades, ensuring transparency and alignment with investment strategy.
 - Stay informed on market developments and provide relevant updates to IMs to support effective portfolio management.
 - Deliver commentary on economic, market, company, and fund developments to the team, both verbally and in writing.
 - Assist in maintaining due diligence documentation for non-central investment solutions.
 - Support quarterly client reporting and ensure tax-efficient portfolio management, including ISA and CGT allowance utilisation.
 - Provide administrative support to team members as needed.
 - Represent the firm at client meetings, presentations, and industry events.
 - Adhere to all regulatory requirements and promote a culture of compliance within the team.
 
- Minimum CISI Level 4 or equivalent benchmark qualification; fully RDR compliant.
 - Experience in private client portfolio management, with exposure to investment research, asset allocation, and alternative strategies.
 
- Strong understanding of financial services, particularly regulatory and compliance frameworks.
 - Familiarity with investment processes and techniques; ability to quickly grasp Charles Stanley’s products and services.
 - Detail-oriented, reliable, and self-motivated with strong numerical accuracy.
 - High level of market awareness and analytical capability.
 - Knowledge of FCA Conduct of Business Rules and Money Laundering Regulations.
 - Understanding of Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles.
 - Organised and methodical approach to work.
 - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; articulate and diplomatic.
 - Strong problem-solving abilities and business-focused mindset.
 - Resilient under pressure with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
