AT-A-GLANCE POSITION INFORMATION:
  • Type of position: 12-Months/On-call, Substitute positions
  • Location: Diistrictwide
  • Salary: Range 02 on the Classified Bargaining Unit Salary Schedule ($3,181.86 - $3,867.58 Monthly)
 This recruitment will create a pool to fill both permanent and substitute positions as needed throughout the district.

Position Duties

JOB SUMMARY: 

Under direction of an assigned supervisor, maintain assigned classrooms, buildings, offices and facilities in a clean and orderly condition according to clearly defined schedules and established procedures.

Incumbents in the Custodian classification perform custodial duties involving cleaning and routine maintenance at an assigned school or site.

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION:
Education, Training and Experience:

  • Any combination equivalent to: one (1) year of custodian experience.
WORKING CONDITIONS

ENVIRONMENT:
Indoor and outdoor environment; subject to regular exposure to dust, fumes and odors.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
Standing and walking for extended periods of time, bending at the waist, pushing and pulling cleaning equipment, lifting, carrying, and moving furniture and objects weighing up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders, and reaching overhead and horizontally to replace light bulbs.

Other Qualifications

The examination process for this recruitment may be comprised of one or any combination of the following: screening of the applicant's training, background, and experience; scored evaluation of responses on a supplemental application; written examination(s); qualifications appraisal oral examination; performance examination; or technical oral examination, scored on a job-related basis. Only the most highly qualified candidates will be invited to continue in the examination process.  Successful candidates who pass all parts of the examination process will be placed on the eligibility list in order of their relative merit as determined by these competitive examinations. The eligibility list for this classification will remain in effect for a period of 6 months.
