**This is a full-time Spring/Summer 2026 Co-Op or Internship onsite in San Diego, CA for currently enrolled students**

About the Aerospace Sector

What will you do? 

We are looking for Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, and Thermal Engineering students interested in working in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment and who are excited about assisting on a variety of projects to join our growing team. Some examples of projects students have worked on in the past include design, analysis, software & control systems development, prototype development and/or testing of satellites, aircraft structures, launch vehicles, composite UAVs, cell phones, telescopes, and opto-mechanical laser and camera assemblies. 

Essential Job Functions: 

• Assist in Project Development 

• • Work alongside engineers to contribute to the advancement of projects, including conducting research and gathering data 

• Design and Analysis 

• • Participate in the design process by creating drawings, models, or simulations. Assist in analyzing designs 

• Prototype Development 

• • Help with hands on assembly and building prototypes of designs  

• Testing and Evaluation 

• • Support in conducting tests (TVAC, vibration, jitter, etc.) to evaluate performance and identify areas for improvement 

• Documentation 

• • Assist in documenting project progress, including creating reports, drawings, and specifications. This may also involve maintaining records of test results and design changes 

• Collaboration 

• • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers from different disciplines, as well as project managers and other stakeholders 

• Problem Solving 

• • Work on troubleshooting and solving engineering problems as they arise 

Location 

Position is based onsite in San Diego, CA.

What are we looking for? 

Quartus is looking for aspiring individuals who want to make a difference in the world and in themselves. Our ideal internship candidates are: 

• Sophomores, Juniors, or Seniors currently enrolled at a four-year institution 

• Majoring in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or related fields 

• Proactive, open-minded, eager to learn and willing to work hard as part of a team 

• Interested in FEA (finite element analysis) and/or on-orbit thermal analysis 

• Interested in environmental testing (vibration, TVAC, etc.) 

• Available full time for specified term (40 hours per week) 

• Must be a US Person (US Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident)
